UNRECIPROCATED LOVE

Written by Bernardowor

Unreciprocated love is a dreadful scourge
The need to be loved back is a painful urge
And the overwhelming feelings that surge
Can make it almost impossible to purge

When deep intimate desires converge
With the lustful emotions that emerge
Creates a longing that brings to the verge
Of insanity if the two hearts don’t merge

Between fantasy and reality lies a trudge
That is treacherous and just a little nudge
Can turn what began as a small smudge
Into a whole world covered with sludge

The sting of rejection becomes the budge
That can drive one to spitefully begrudge
The rejected heart gets burned to fudge
And like a jilted lover one starts to judge

If one fails to let those feelings discharge
They consume him and hate takes charge
With rage and anger it continues to barge
Can lead to suicidal or criminal acts at large
