My name is Bernard Owor I was born on 28th February 1981 in Nairobi the capital city of Kenya in East Africa. I am currently based in Mombasa a town at the East African Coast. I attended Langata Road Primary School from 1988-1994 (From Kindergarten to Standard 8) Then went to Hospital Hill High School From 1995-1999. In 2OO2 I enrolled in a computer college called Diamond Systems, an affiliate to (JKUAT) Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology to Study IT (Information Technology. My first crossing with poetry was in my primary school years when I had to perform a Shairi (A poem in Swahili) In front of the whole school during parade and it was a success. I liked music from a young age and would quickly catch the theme songs of many cartoons and musical commercials, I had the ability to master songs quickly, In high school years I was a member of drama club and my colleges and I represented my school in drama festivals with a coral verse, I never concerned myself with poetry much I just loved music and found myself mesmerized by lyrics more than the beats of songs, after high school I started to write songs, then one day a cousin wanted to court a girl who happened to be my good friend, the problem is he was very shy so he approached me and asked me to write a love letter expressing his feelings towards her and deliver it to the girl saying it was from him, so I did it, I wrote a letter in a poetic form and did as he had requested. Alas! The girl loved it, she was won over by the words and exclaimed that my cousin might be shy but he was perfect with expressing his feelings on paper, she found it romantic and appealing. Anyway things dint work out for them in the end because he never came close to portrayed image of the words in the letter and later the girl found out it was me who wrote it and that is a story for another day.
